An Actor's Life

I have had the opportunity to work on some TV and film sets and each has been enjoyable. I have made many new friends and learned from them. It has been a positive experience where I have encountered consummate professionals. However, there was one particular movie set that was so positive and so uplifting that I felt right at home, as if I were visiting family I had not seen in a while. Everyone was looking out for each other and helping each other. There was such camaraderie. When we were not on set performing, we shared information and tips. We talked about many different topics most related to being an actor and some more practical. The best part of it all was that there were people of all ages and races. We bonded and shared contact information. I am still in awe of my colleagues. This goes to show you that it is true that a set can be a positive place where we grow as performers. Damien Chazelle, director of LaLa Land said "I like a set to be a happy place, where people can feel free to experiment" Well Mr. Chazelle, I believe this does exist not just in LaLa Land.
